Pomegranate Margarita

5 from 1 vote
A five-minute variation of your favorite margarita made with agave and topped with sugar-salt-lime rim.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 4 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1 Tbsp agave syrup
  • 2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz orange liqueur (like Triple sec)

Equipment

  • Shaker
  • Cocktail jigger or shot glass

Method

  1. measure all ingredient into a shaker and add a handful of ice
  2. shake until chilled (about 10-15 seconds)
  3. add 1 Tbsp. of fine sea salt, 1 Tbsp. of fine sugar, and the zest of 1/2 a lime onto a plate. Mix together. Then take a lime wedge and coat the rim of the glass and dip into the mixture until evenly coated.
  4. strain the cocktail through the shaker top onto fresh ice
  5. garnish with your favorite fruit

Notes

Of course you could do simply salt rim or sugar or no rim at all. I garnished with blueberries because I had a super sweet batch and I love them so much, but you could garnish with lime, pomegranate seeds, or any other fruit.
